The Energy Fitness Program and Medium
Energy Fitness Program have been merged into one program and are available
to any business that is a PG&E customer with a commercial electric
account A-1, A-6, A-10, E-19 or E-20.
The average small business will receive up to 20 4ft T-12 fixtures
retrofitted and as many screw in compact fluorescent lamps as they
have in the building. Also they will receive a basic A/C tune up on
all units which include new filters, chemical cleaning of the coils,
and a temperature split reading to measure efficiency of the unit.
Also installed where needed will be Vending Misers which shut down
the lights and compressor on soda machines saving up to $300 per year
and occupancy sensors which shut down lighting in break rooms and conference
rooms when unoccupied. Exit signs will be replaced either with retrofit
screw in LED lamps or replacement of existing fixtures which usually
run 24 hours a day every day.
Depending on what gets installed, the average small business will save
approximately $300 to $1500 per year on their electric bill with no
invested cost to the business. Each business will receive a 20 to 30
page report that lists the individual savings to the business that
result from the actual retrofit and a host of energy saving tips and
recommendations to save additional energy and money for the business.
Also included in the program is technical follow up information if
customers wish to follow up on the report recommendations.
Medium sized businesses over 100kw will receive up to 80 4ft-8ft T-12
fixture retrofits including de-lamping with reflectors with all the
above measures included for a potential savings of $1000 to $3000 or
more per year on their electric bill.
The programs are completely FREE to participating
businesses in the Northern Sacramento Valley in California. All funding
comes from the Public Purpose Program which is generated from everyone
who pays a PG&E bill.
