Energy efficient fluorescent lamps
and electronic ballasts



T-12 lamps and magnetic ballasts will be replaced with T-8 lamps and electronic ballasts. The Energy Fitness Program will replace standard 4 foot and/or 8 foot fluorescent lamps (known as T-12 lamps) and magnetic ballasts with energy efficient T-8 fluorescent lamps and electronic ballasts. We usually de-lamp fixtures with the use of a reflector.

Save 30% to 40% of their electricity use. Get better color-rendering characteristics. Eliminate light “flicker". Generate less heat than T-12 lamps which will provide savings in cooling costs as well.
Fluorescent lighting can also be controlled with dimming and other lighting controls for additional energy savings.

CFLs: Compact Fluorescent Lamps

Use 2/3 to 3/4 less energy as incandescent lamps.
Produce 66% less heat which saves on air conditioning costs.
Last 8 to 10 times longer than incandescent lamps and saves $4 to $5 in replacement costs.
Screw in to conventional sockets.
Are available in a variety of shapes and sizes and fit inside most existing fixtures. Dimmable lamps are also available.


7 watt CANDELLA replaces a 60 watt incandescent lamp.	14-27 watt spiral replaces a 60-100 watt incandescent lamp.	23 watt Par 38 replaces a 65 watt incandescent lamp.

14 watt globe replaces a 60 watt incandescent lamp.	R-30 or R-40 replaces a 65 watt or 75 watt flood lamp.	9-14-19 watt CFL replaces a 40-60-100 watt incandescent lamp.
